The Opportunity
We’re looking for a Lead Control Systems Engineer to own the full lifecycle of control-system delivery—from design and architecture through commissioning and turnover—on one of our high-profile mission-critical projects. You’ll mentor engineers and technicians, represent Thermo in front of clients and partners, and set the technical direction for system design, quality, and integration.
Why You’ll Love This Role
- Technical leadership: Own design, integration, and commissioning of advanced PLC/SCADA systems (AVEVA, Ignition, HMIs).
- High-impact projects: Contribute to mission-critical data centers and large-scale automation programs.
- Career growth: Lead teams, influence standards, and gain exposure to program-wide strategy.
- Flexibility: Travel is minimal, and relocation stipends are provided for new project assignments.
- Culture that invests in you: Training, tuition reimbursement, clear career paths, and a collaborative team built on trust.
What You’ll Do
- Lead end-to-end execution of control-system projects, including I/O design, PLC/SCADA configuration, network architecture, and FAT/SAT testing.
- Direct field teams and subcontractors during installation and commissioning; troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and instrumentation issues.
- Review I/O lists, P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and network drawings for accuracy and QMS compliance.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for clients and trade partners.
- Mentor junior engineers, redline design packages, and promote Thermo’s Quality Management standards.
- Identify scope risks, manage change-order opportunities, and maintain communication with PMs and leadership.
What You Bring
- Education: B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Controls Engineering—or equivalent technical experience.
- Experience: 2–4+ years of control-system engineering, including PLC/SCADA design, integration, and commissioning.
- Technical skills: AVEVA System Platform, Ignition, PLC/PAC programming, networked OT systems, and troubleshooting.
- Soft skills: Effective communicator, organized, calm under pressure, and collaborative in cross‑functional environments.
- Other: Valid driver’s license, eligibility to work in the U.S., and ability to meet fit‑for‑duty standards.
What You’ll Get
- Competitive salary with annual bonus
- 401(k) with company match
- Comprehensive health benefits with multiple low-cost options
- Paid time off and company holidays
- Training, certification, and tuition‑reimbursement programs
- Casual culture with team events, free lunches, and company swag
