Inviting applications for the role of [Lead Consultant], [Netback & Storage Engineer]!

The purpose of this job is to provide all aspects of NetBackup administration and provide technical guidance and support to NetBackup administrators.

This position will also handle escalated incidents and perform root cause analysis of any problems that may arise out of Incident Reports (IRs) and/or proactive needs for business.

Responsibilities
  • Managing and troubleshooting day‑to‑day backup operations
  • Defines policies and standards for the use of NetBackup.
  • Manages all NetBackup application infrastructure changes (Change & Configuration management)
  • Capacity management, etc. for bottlenecks & issues
  • Ensure quality standards in release.
  • Take care of incidents, raise to CLIENT or 3rd parties as necessary.
  • Perform root cause analysis for P1/P2/P3 and P4 incidents and/or proactively based on business needs.
  • Work with the right teams within Genpact, CLIENT or 3rd parties for the implementation of change
  • Follow the required policies and procedures for the incident, problem and change management.
  • Ensure service performance expectations are met with service levels and quality.
  • Raise/escalate any service‑related issues and risks to Lead
  • Knowledgeable about the Tape Backups and related troubleshooting methods.
  • Well versed with basics of Operating systems such as Linux, Windows, Solaris etc.
  • Hands‑on experience with Tape Libraries and how they are handled.
  • Has knowledge on Tape encryption.
  • Hands‑on experience on NDMP Backups and their configuration.
  • Hands‑on experience on NetBackup Catalog recovery and its procedures.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members
  • Vulnerability remediation
  • Administration and diagnostic resolution of common maintenance and performance issues on Storage
  • Administer Disk Resources, support and manage replication of data, provide disaster recovery and business continuity support
  • Mid‑level troubleshooting of common block / file protocols, NFS (Network Attached Storage), CIFS (Common Internet File System)
  • Evaluate performance, monitor workloads, and analyze results to ensure optimal operations
  • Overall, Knowledge for SAN Storage, SAN Switches & NAS Storage
  • A strong knowledge of storage operational activities (zoning, masking, and mapping).
  • Knowledge of storage replication technologies such as HP3PAR Online Import/EMCCOPY.
  • Experienced storage array performance analysis and array tuning.
  • Good understanding of the following Operating Systems: ( Vmware , windows,Linux ).
  • Good understanding of Antivirus technologies on SAN / NAS storage.
Qualifications we seek in you!
Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduate or postgraduate in Technology with Computers or Information Technology (IT) stream.
  • A degree in Computer Science, IT, Systems Engineering or a related qualification.
Preferred Qualification
  • Capital Markets Domain knowledge is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), integration across Incident, Problem & Change (IPC) Management.
  • Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and troubleshooting.
  • Technical and system expertise in relevant IT workstreams.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
  • Advanced troubleshooting, including the ability to delve in more complex issues, which require a deeper understanding of systems and applications.
  • Specialized knowledge in specific areas allowing them to tackle intricate problems.
  • Collaboration with L1 Support to provide guidance and share insights for ongoing issue resolution.
  • Strong problem‑resolving abilities, communication skills (written and verbal), time administration and management, and team partnership and collaboration.
  • Escalation to L3 Support in timely manner when challenges require an even higher level of expertise and/or experience.
  • Ability to effectively interact with stakeholders in implementation of new functionality and solving problems.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Capability to coordinate and execute projects assigned. Basic understanding of IT infrastructure and troubleshooting.
  • Should be involved in P1/P2 critical incidents and mentoring the team.
  • Familiar with METIS which is a tool to track requests & changes & CMDB (inventory) would be added advantage.
