Lead Carpenter / Foreman

Job Description

Join our team as a hands‑on Lead Carpenter / Foreman, where you'll play a vital role on the construction site, balancing skilled carpentry with crew coordination and site logistics. This dynamic leadership role is ideal for someone who thrives in the field and is ready to serve as the Superintendent’s right hand.

Responsibilities

• Perform carpentry tasks and lead by example on active job sites.
• Delegate daily assignments to crew members and monitor their progress.
• Coordinate deliveries and manage site inventory.
• Maintain high-level communication with the Superintendent regarding progress, issues, and scheduling.
• Ensure safety protocols and quality standards are upheld.
• Assist with site setup, inspections, and close-out procedures.
• Troubleshoot construction challenges and offer practical solutions.

Essential Skills

• Proven experience in residential or commercial construction.
• Strong carpentry skills and familiarity with tools, materials, and techniques.
• Leadership ability with a collaborative mindset.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret construction documents.
• Journeyman certification, apprenticeship, or equivalent hands‑on experience (ticket not required).
• 4+ years of construction experience.
• 1+ years of leadership experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High‑rise experience.
• Experience with power tools, heating, and hoarding.
• Skid Steer experience and ticket.
• Fall Arrest and AWP certifications.
• General labor skills, including consistent manual lifting.

Work Environment

Work begins at 6 AM and typically ends between 5 - 6 PM, Monday through Saturday. The environment is fast‑paced, with tasks that vary daily, including carpentry, deliveries, cleaning, and more. Utilize tools such as skill saws, drills, and other power tools.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
