Job summary

Salit Steel in Regina, Canada, seeks a Lead CAD Technologist / Lead Rebar Detailer to manage 2D rebar drawings, coordinate with external stakeholders, and oversee production orders. The role reports to the Sales Manager and leads a small CAD team to deliver precise detailing and scheduling.

Requirements include 5 years in rebar detailing, 5 years with AutoCAD, 3 years of leadership, and a civil engineering diploma; project management experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Diploma in civil engineering or related technologies.
• Project management experience would be considered an asset.
• Construction (civil, concrete) related experience is preferred.

• Ability to be organized while working on multiple projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide 2D drawings in AutoCAD
• Ensure materials and time allocation are within estimated parameters of projects
• Administration of miscellaneous parts of contracts
• Plan and coordinate product delivery dates with external clients
• Piling cage machine production planning
• Lead team of 2-3 CAD Technologist, completed performance reviews, disciplinary requirements and other team development
• Work closely with Sales Manager, Operation Coordinator and Installation Coordinator
• Other duties as required

Position Summary

We are looking for a full-time permanent Lead CAD Technologist / Lead Rebar Detailer, who will be reporting directly to the Sales Manager. In this position the CAD Technologist is responsible creating clear and accurate rebar placement drawings, coordinate with key external stakeholders, and submitting orders to production team. Further responsibilities are:

Provide 2D drawings in AutoCAD

Ensure materials and time allocation are within estimated parameters of projects

Administration of miscellaneous parts of contracts

Plan and coordinate product delivery dates with external clients

What You’ll Need

5 years of rebar detailing experience.

5 years of experience in training and working knowledge of AutoCAD.

3 years of leadership experience required.
