Lead Business Systems Analyst – Guidewire PolicyCenter. Location: Waterloo, ON. Onsite Flexibility: Hybrid.

Job Summary

As a Lead Business Systems Analyst – Guidewire PolicyCenter, you will lead the business analysis for enterprise Policy Administration integration focused on product/rating alignment, data migration, and downstream systems. You’ll play a critical role in enabling a unified policy platform across P&C lines by defining integration workflows, overseeing data conversion, and ensuring successful delivery within an agile enterprise.

Responsibilities
  • Elicit and document business and technical requirements for Guidewire PolicyCenter, including product model, underwriting rules, forms, and end-to-end policy workflows.
  • Design and document integration interfaces with upstream/downstream systems (e.g., Billing, Claims, broker portals), including REST/JSON/XML API specifications and performance needs.
  • Lead data conversion activities for policy migration, including mapping, reconciliation, and validation planning.
  • Maintain and deliver key BA artifacts including BRD, FSD, interface specs, data dictionaries, and test cases.
  • Facilitate workshops with cross-functional teams including Underwriting, Product, Operations, and IT.
  • Coordinate change requests, risks, dependencies, and vendor interactions throughout the project.
  • Support release planning, cutover/dress rehearsal runbooks, and post-go-live stabilization tracking.
Required Experience
  • 7–10+ years in Business Systems Analysis, including 4+ years hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter
  • Prior experience on policy migration and integration programs in the P&C insurance industry
  • Strong knowledge of API integration, JSON/XML, Postman/Swagger, and SQL for data validation
  • Agile delivery environment (Jira, Confluence) and strong workshop facilitation/documentation skills
  • Understanding of Canadian P&C regulatory/privacy requirements and documentation standards
Nice-to-Have Experience
  • Guidewire certifications (BA/PolicyCenter)
  • Experience with Guidewire BillingCenter or ClaimCenter
  • Exposure to document composition tools (e.g., SmartComm, Documaker)
  • Familiarity with ETL tools and messaging/event-driven architecture
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Synapse)
