Job summary

Jobtailor in Halifax is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to lead automation initiatives using RPA, Python, and cloud technologies. The role requires gathering business requirements, writing user stories, and defining acceptance criteria to drive software and automation projects.

You will collaborate with SMEs and technical teams, design solutions, and oversee full project lifecycles from scoping to implementation while mentoring staff for future leadership roles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree as specified in the job ad.
• 3+ years as a business analyst in an agile environment, preferably delivering software/automation solutions.
• 1-2 years experience leading a team.
• Exceptional communications skills, both written and oral.
• Ability to work independently and translate user requests to technical specs.
• Understanding of BPM, ML, and Intelligent Automation benefits.
• Create and execute test plans in Dev/QA/UAT environments.
• Design, evaluate, and monitor key metrics with business teams.

Responsibilities

• Establish best practices, templates, and project governance for automation.
• Manage all project life cycle phases from scoping to implementation.
• Work with Process Owners and Business Leads to roll out solutions.
• Maintain and groom the product backlog.
• Organize and lead Scrum ceremonies; stand-ups, backlog grooming, reviews, retrospectives.
• Occasionally perform weekend testing for releases.
• Coach staff to advance into management roles.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
• 3+ years of experience working as a business analyst in an agile environment, preferably to deliver software/automation solutions
• 1-2 yrs experience leading a team
• Exceptional communications skills, both written and oral
• Ability to work independently
• Able to gather functional/non-functional requirements and translate user requests to technical specifications
• Understanding of the benefits of Business Process Management, Machine Learning, and Intelligent Automation
