Job summary

Lufa Farms is seeking a Lead Assembly Cook for their new kitchen with a focus on high-volume production. You will actively prepare meals, supervise assembly cooks, ensure standardized recipes are applied, and uphold quality and consistency across all items.

The role requires 2–4 years in a professional kitchen, experience with combi ovens, and strong English communication. Weekend availability is expected in a night-shift schedule and safety guidelines are a priority.

At Lufa Farms, we’re on a mission to create a better food system by growing food where people live and growing it responsibly. Through our production kitchen, we prepare ready-to-eat meals that reflect our commitment to quality, food safety, and sustainability. To support the opening of our new kitchen, we’re looking for a Lead Assembly Cook to join the team.

In this hands-on, execution-focused role, you’ll actively prepare meals while supporting and overseeing assembly cooks during daily production. You’ll ensure standardized recipes are applied accurately, portions are consistent, and finished products meet quality standards in a structured, high-volume production environment.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare meals by strictly following standardized recipes;
  • Operate combi ovens safely and efficiently;
  • Wash, peel, and cut vegetables;
  • Prepare rice, meat, and chicken using combi ovens;
  • Supervise and support assembly cooks during daily production;
  • Ensure recipes, portions, and assembly standards are consistently followed;
  • Monitor product quality and consistency across all prepared items;
  • Communicate recipe clarifications or issues to kitchen leadership;
  • Handle food according to hygiene, sanitation, and food safety standards;
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations;
  • Follow internal procedures, recipes, and health and safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • 2 to 4 years of experience in a professional kitchen or food production environment;
  • Experience operating combi ovens;
  • Strong basic kitchen skills (knife work, preparation, cooking);
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately and work efficiently;
  • Comfortable guiding and coordinating other kitchen staff;
  • Fluent in English (mandatory); French is an asset;
  • Availability to work weekends;
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work well in a team.
Assets
  • MAPAQ certification or food safety training.
Schedule
  • Full-time position, Night shift (10:00 PM – 6:00 AM, Saturday to Wednesday);
  • Schedule includes weekends;
Compensation & benefits
  • Salary is to be determined based on the experience and knowledge of the candidate;
