A technology consultancy is seeking a remote Lead Architect to oversee the final phase of an Oracle OBIEE migration to Microsoft Fabric. This role includes responsibilities such as designing solutions, leading technical teams, and documenting processes. Candidates should have hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, strong knowledge of ETL processes, and excellent communication skills for stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership across multiple aspects of data architecture and engineering.
Our client is seeking a Lead Architect to support the final phase of an on-prem Oracle OBIEE migration to Microsoft Fabric and assist in closing out the remaining architecture backlog. This REMOTE engagement includes Fabric architecture, ETL validation, CI/CD optimization, and supporting dashboard development and cutover readiness.
Lead architectural delivery for the OBIEE ? Microsoft Fabric migration.
Design and enhance Microsoft Fabric solutions including Lakehouse, Data Engineering, Pipelines, and OneLake security.
Finalize backlog items related to end-to-end data architecture, ingestion, transformation, storage, governance, and consumption.
Provide technical leadership across ETL load patterns (full, incremental, CDC) and data pipeline performance validation.
Create incremental testing plans and validate end-to-end data accuracy after migration.
Own and optimize CI/CD pipelines (Git, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions) for Fabric and data engineering solutions.
Document architecture, solution designs, technical wikis, and maintain clear, maintainable code.
Lead cutover planning, go-live support, and early hypercare activities.
Guide engineers and architects on ETL optimization, deployment timelines, and data validation.
Engage directly with stakeholders, lead workshops, and communicate complex architecture decisions in business-friendly terms.
Hands-on experience with Fabric Lakehouse, Data Engineering, Pipelines, and OneLake security models.
Strong understanding of Fabric capacities, workspaces, lakehouse schema design, delta/parquet, and security boundaries.
Strong knowledge of full loads, incremental loads, CDC patterns, and ETL performance testing.
Experience validating data quality and accuracy post-migration.
Experience with Git, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
Ability to optimize CI/CD, document processes, and automate Fabric deployments.
Understanding of branching strategies, code quality, and environment promotion.
Experience leading cutover plans, go-live readiness, hypercare, and cross-team technical troubleshooting.
Ability to coach engineers and guide architectural decisions.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Comfortable leading client sessions, technical walkthroughs, and migration readiness discussions.
