Job summary

Minth Windsor Manufacturing is seeking a Launch Project Manager to act as the primary liaison between the factory and key clients such as Honda, Ford and GM. You will coordinate all mass production activities and drive performance across teams.

Required: bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field and at least five years in automotive project management with North American OEMs; knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plans; CAD/GD&T basics preferred.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, business, or a related field
  • At least five years of experience in project management within automotive mass production
  • Direct experience with North American OEM customers (Honda,Ford,GM)
  • Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, and Control Plans; basic CAD/GD&T interpretation required
  • Experience with aluminum extrusion, die-casting, battery housing, or exterior components preferred

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all mass production-related matters as the primary liaison between factory and clients
  • Host production review meetings and report KPIs (CQDS, OTD); address client concerns
  • Lead cross-functional teams to analyze gaps and implement CAPA
  • Oversee engineering changes (ECNs); evaluate, verify, approve, and implement changes
  • Monitor mass production costs and drive cost reduction via VAVE initiatives

Job description

Our team is expanding and looking to add a Launch Project Manager. We are seeking a dynamic and driven candidate interested in joining a rapidly growing global automotive company.

The Launch Project Manager will act as the primary liaison between the factory and its key clients, such as Honda, Ford, GM, and other OEM companies. Additional responsibilities include:

  • Customer Relationship Management
    • Responsible for coordinating all matters related to mass production
    • Ability to host regular production review meetings with clients, reporting on performance metrics such as CQDS, and effectively managing clients' concerns and complaints
    • Ensuring that customer requirements and expectations are clearly understood and efficiently executed within the factory
  • Performance Management of Mass Production Projects
    • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for mass production projects, including production efficiency, first-time pass rate (FTQ), scrap rate, customer PPM, and on-time delivery rate (OTD)
    • Lead internal teams to analyze performance gaps, identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to address deviations
  • Problem-Solving and Containment
    • Lead cross-functional factory teams (quality, engineering, production) in applying structured problem-solving methodologies (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone Diagram) to promptly and effectively resolve quality issues, delivery constraints, and supplier-related challenges during mass production
  • Change Management
    • Oversee all engineering change notifications (ECNs) after mass production, whether initiated by customers or internally, ensuring that each change undergoes thorough evalusation, verification, approval, and smooth implementation
    • Manage the associated impacts on cost and delivery timelines\
  • Cost and Budget Management
    • Collaborate with the finance and operations departments to monitor mass production costs, identify opportunities for cost reduction, and implement value analysis/value engineering (VAVE) initiatives aimed at achieving annual cost reduction targets
    • Effectively manage quality-related costs associated with mass production issues, including scrap rework, and warranty claims
To be a qualified candidate you must have the following:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering (e.g., mechanical, industrial, automotive, or materials engineering), business administration, or a related field
  • At least five years of experience in project management or related roles within the mass production phase of the automotive parts manufacturing industry
  • Direct experience collaborating with North American OEM customers (e.g., Honda, Ford, GM)
  • Strong understanding of Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Procedure (PPAP), Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Control Plans; basic ability to interpret CAD and GD&T drawings is required
  • Candidates with prior experience in aluminum alloy extrusion, die-casting, battery housing, or related automotive exterior components are preferred
Key to being successful in this role:
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Chinese (Mandarin) is preferred, but not required
  • Strong technical ability with knowledge of materials and manufacturing and assembly processes
  • A high level of self-motivation and bias for action
  • Strong communication, presentation and organization skills
  • Ability to directly interact with customers while providing a professional image
  • Good interpersonal skills
