Title: Landscaping Supervisor

Location: Langley, BC V4W 1H2

Work environment: Outdoors / On the road

Salary: $36.60 per hour (30 hours per week)

Employment type: Permanent full-time; Day shift, overtime available

Start date: As soon as possible

Experience required: 7 months to less than 1 year

Responsibilities
  • Hire, supervise and schedule staff
  • Organize planting of trees, gardens and lawns
  • Plan and direct grounds maintenance
  • Plan and estimate labour and materials
  • Organize and direct construction of decks and decorative or retaining walls
  • Plan, manage and supervise landscape construction work
  • Maintain work records and logs
  • Read blueprints and drawings
  • Repair and maintain equipment
  • Requisition or order materials, equipment and supplies
  • Resolve work problems, provide technical advice and recommend measures to improve productivity and product quality
  • Weed, prune and trim trees and plants
  • Remove litter and garbage
  • Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs and trees
  • Lay sod or seed
  • Establish work schedules and procedures
  • Cut grass
  • Cart and spread topsoil and other materials
  • Assist with landscape constructions
  • Apply fertilizers
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns and/or gardens
  • Write daily basic progress reports
  • Rake and collect refuse
  • Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment
  • Tie and secure plants
