Job summary

Mainstreet Equity Corporation is seeking a dependable Grounds/ Landscaping Technician to maintain residential common areas in our Calgary properties. Responsibilities include lawn care, seasonal clean-up, snow removal, and general outdoor upkeep on-site.

Candidates must have landscaping experience, be able to operate listed equipment, and lift 50 lbs. Valid AB Class 5 license and ability to work outside in all weather are required. Security clearance is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Experience in landscaping / ground maintenance.
• Must possess valid AB Class 5 driver license.
• Able to operate listed landscaping equipment.
• Able to work outside in all weather.
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Able to use snow removal tools and landscaping equipment.
• Must complete security clearance.
• Good communication and ability to follow directions.
• Ability to work independently with good time management.

Responsibilities

• Perform general lawn care including planting, hedging, pruning, weeding, mowing, trimming, fertilizing, watering.
• Spring and fall clean-up.
• Snow removal from stairs, sidewalks, parking lots and entrances; spread salt.
• Remove furniture and items from suites as required.
• Garbage removal from sites and vacant suites; indoor and outdoor.
• Ensure equipment and machines are well maintained.
• Clean storage areas as needed.
• Other related duties as assigned by manager.

Its business focus is on acquisition & upgrading of residential properties and managing its own portfolio of over 18,000 residential apartments in five provinces across Canada.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• General lawn care including planting, hedging, pruning, weeding, mowing, trimming, fertilizing, watering
• Spring and fall clean-up
• Snow removal, clear snow away from the steps, sidewalks, parking lots and entrances of the buildings
• Spread salt on ice, ensure outside areas are not hazardous or slippery
• Removing furniture and left items from the suites when required
• Garbage pick-up and removal from sites and vacant suites indoor and outdoor
• Clean up all gravels from parking lot
• Make sure all machines and equipment are well maintained
• Clean up storage rooms when required
• Other related duties as assigned by manager

Qualifications and Requirements

• Experience in landscaping / ground maintenance
• Must possess valid AB Class 5 driver license
• Able to operate landscaping equipment (such as skid steers, wheel loaders, boom lifts, excavators, forklifts, telehandlers, and box trucks)
• Able to work outside in all weather
• Able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
• Able to use various tools- snow blowers, landscaping equipment
• Must successfully complete a security clearance
• Must be able to communicate effectively and be able to follow direction
• Must be able to work on own and have good time management skills
