Job summary

An Indigenous organization in Ontario is seeking a Lands and Resources Coordinator to manage the Reserve Lands & Environment Management Program. The ideal candidate will have a diploma in Administration or a related field, possess strong organizational and communication skills, and a knowledge of Anishnabek lands. Preference will be given to qualified Anishinabek applicants. This is a full-time position offering a salary range of $53,591.20 – $65,499.20.

Reporting Relationship
The Lands and Resources Coordinator will report to the Office Administrator as the direct Supervisor who reports to the Enaagdenjged as Department Manager for the Administration Department.

Position Summary
Reports to the Office Administrator; works independently for the overall management of Reserve Lands & Environment Management Program (RLEMP) for the M’Chigeeng First Nation; maintains relationships and open communications with the organization and membership; and maintains strict confidentiality of community lands records information. Preforms duties relating to the Management of Lands required by Chief & Council. All work performed will be in accordance to applicable MFN Codes, Lands Management Manual, Personnel Policy and other laws pertinent lands management.

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum

Diploma in Administration, Business Administration, Civil Engineering, Indigenous Studies or related field of study with 2-years related work experience.
Ability to prepare narrative and statistical reports.
Knowledge of history, culture, and customs of the Anishnabek and fluency in Anishinabemowin is a strong asset.
Must be willing to work flexible hours; have a Valid Driver’s License and Driver’s Abstract.
CRC/VSS Rationale: M’Chigeeng First Nation and its agents are in a position of trust in services to band member children and/or vulnerable adults, so a safe and secure working environment is mandatory. Applicants must provide a clear VSS Certificate and the CRC must have a record clear and/or dated of any convictions relating to alcohol, drugs, assault, violence and theft. The CRC and VSS must be current (30 days) and must be an Original.
