Job summary

Carpenter Co. in Toronto manufactures laminator-based Carpet Cushion products and seeks a Machine Operator to join the team. The role focuses on operating machinery within safety, production, and quality guidelines to meet deadlines.

Ideal candidates will pass medical fitness and respiratory tests, read and communicate in English, and be able to lift 20–40 lbs. Forklift or clamp truck experience is a plus in a dynamic plant environment.

Qualifications

• Must pass Physician’s Physical Fit and Respiratory Tests.
• Able to read, write, and communicate English.
• Able to lift 20–40 lbs. comfortably.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive and understand instructions from Department Manager.
• Identify and remove raw materials from inventory or receive from proceeding process.
• Use forklift to move logs or rolls to inventory or trailers.
• Perform machine-specific operating tasks in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Adhere to established production procedures while moving parts to next operation or to loading and shipping area.
• Clean equipment and perform scheduled maintenance; notify manager of breakdowns.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Other duties as assigned by the Department Manager.
