Job description
Introduction & Key Role Objectives

WJ Groundwater is the leading construction dewatering and groundwater specialist in the UK with operations in Canada, the Middle East, Poland & the Philippines. We have specialized plant and equipment that allows us to install custom dewatering systems in various environments including from within tunnels and shafts and from the surface.

The Logistics and Yard operations are an essential part of our business and are pivotal in enabling WJ Canada’s ability to execute projects on time and on budget. The principal function of this position is to provide support to yard operations and handle the delivery of construction dewatering and water treatment equipment, system components and supplies.

Reports to Logistics Specialist.

Key Areas of Responsibility
  • Clean, disassemble and sort fittings.
  • Load, unload, move material by hand or by using material handling equipment (i.e. skid steer, telehandler, forklift, etc.).
  • Handle, count, sort, stack, pack, and unpack materials and assets as part of the material handling work.
  • Clean and refurbish machinery, pumps, tanks, etc.
  • Ensure work areas are kept clean and trash and recycle is properly disposed of as needed.
  • Complete daily paperwork, logs and inspection sheets as required.
  • Fabrication of assemblies as preparation for site work.
  • Conduct pickups from and deliveries to sites, the yard, suppliers, and WJ head office.
  • Ensure all packing slips, receipts, invoices and records of pickups and deliveries are submitted to the WJ Canada Office Administration and organized as per administration standards.
  • Conduct daily/weekly inspection of WJ Canada fleet vehicles to ensure safe and adequate working condition.
  • Provide last minute support and deliveries as necessary for regular daily operations, i.e. picking up replacement parts, taking equipment away for repair, etc.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of third party inbound and outbound deliveries.
  • Update and maintain the WJ Canada Assets and Material Inventory trackers in conjunction with and under the supervision of the Yard Supervisor.
  • Development and understanding of WJ systems and fittings to ensure all materials and equipment for site operations are delivered in the correct quantities and in a timely manner.
  • Be responsible for own health and safety and that of colleagues, in accordance with current construction guidance and relevant legislation.

Qualifications & Experience
  • A motivated and hardworking individual with good verbal communication skills is essential.
  • 1 year of plumbing, piping or similar experience.
  • Knowledge of basic MS Excel functionalities is considered an asset.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience as a Delivery Driver in construction or similar industry.
  • Valid Ontario G Driver’s License and clean abstract.
  • Proven record of courteous safe and defensive driving.
  • Good understanding of strapping and tie‑down techniques.
  • Capable of lifting to 50 lbs.
  • Familiarity with and ability to navigate the GTA.
  • The ability to work collaboratively with diverse team.
  • Ability to operate skid steer, forklift and other material handling equipment.
  • Experience driving heavy vehicle – (i.e. 5‑ton trucks) is considered an asset.
  • Experience working in warehousing and transportation is asset.
Working Conditions

The working hours for this position will be from 7:00am to 3:30pm. Your responsibilities will be split approximately be 40% on the road and 60% at the yard. It is expected that you will be based in Toronto for 95% of the time with the balance at other sites outside of Toronto.
