Do you want to be part of Beaumont’s newest and most‑exciting place to work in the City? The Beaumont Sport & Recreation Centre (BSRC) is seeking a full‑time (term) Labourer who is responsible for assistance with the operation and maintenance of the facility. This facility features an ice rink, fieldhouse, gymnasium, aquatic centre, fitness centre; climbing‑wall; running/walking track; concession and multi‑purpose rooms.

Our ideal candidate is self‑motivated; has the ability and desire to work hard, who wants to learn and grow in pool and arena operations, can provide excellent customer service to guests, patrons, and the entire team; all while maintaining a safe and fun environment.

What YOU’RE Responsible for:
  • Assist with the completion of work orders in a timely manner
  • Assist with arena operations including operating equipment such as ice edger and equipment used to maintain ice thickness
  • Assist with pool operations including inspections, maintain appropriate supply levels of chemicals and cleaning agents
  • Ensure high standard of cleanliness in the facility
  • Assist with event set‑up and take‑down
  • General maintenance of property including snow clearing and sidewalk sanding of facility entrances
  • Routine preventative maintenance, security checks
  • Provide exceptional customer service to user groups and patrons of the facility
  • Maintain material and supply inventory
  • Other duties as required
What YOU Bring:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and a clean Driver’s Abstract
  • 1‑2 years of previous experience working in a recreation facility
  • Current Standard First Aid certification
  • Provide a clear Criminal Record Check with vulnerable sector
  • Previous experience operating equipment
  • The ability to meet the shift requirements; including early mornings, mid‑afternoons, late evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Work in all weather conditions; shifts involve both indoor and outdoor work
  • Lift heavy equipment and materials up to 23 kg
  • Understand the service standards and day‑to‑day operation requirements of a recreation facility
  • Awareness and understanding of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and work effectively in a team atmosphere
  • Computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Pool Operator 1 Certification is an asset
  • Arena Operator 1 Certification is an asset

  • A salary range of $23.05–$30.08 per annum (based on experience and qualifications)
