JOB TITLE: Labourer
LOCATION: Remote Long Range Radar Sites across Canada
TYPE: Unionized, Rotational Position (6 weeks on, 6 weeks off)

Nasittuq Corporation (from the Inuktitut word meaning “looking out from the highest point”) operates and maintains the North Warning System (NWS), a critical joint Canada‑US radar network with 47 sites across Northern Canada.

WHAT YOU’LL DO
  • Loading and unloading of cargo, materials, supplies and equipment
  • Shoveling, snow removal
  • Assisting other trades onsite
  • General site maintenance, including maintaining an orderly worksite
  • Painting and light maintenance
  • Fueling vehicles
  • Running errands, processing deliveries
WHO YOU ARE
EDUCATION / CERTIFICATE(S) / LICENSE(S)
  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Valid Driver's License required
  • Must be able to obtain Reliability level security clearance
EXPERIENCE
  • Experience working in a fast‑paced environment
  • Past work experience related to Labourer functions, Customer Service, or a related job area
KNOWLEDGE OF
  • Basic Safety Regulations

ROTATION & OVERTIME: 6 weeks in/6 weeks out rotation (48‑hour workweeks) with overtime at 1.5x base rate. Paid travel days (up to 2 days) with all travel costs covered.

LIVING ARRANGEMENTS: Private accommodation with meals, Wi‑Fi, TV, laundry facilities, and recreation.

ADDITIONAL PERKS: Arctic clothing and annual safety footwear allowance of $175. $500 referral bonus for eligible positions.

GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES: Access to training for certifications and skill development, with reasonable expenses covered.

VACATION PAY: 6% for employees under five years and 8% for those with over five years of tenure.

NORTHERN LIVING ALLOWANCE: Additional biweekly allowance for employees residing in designated northern communities: Inuvik, Cambridge Bay, Sanirajak, and Iqaluit.
