Job Description

Canadian Silica Industries is a diversified and growing miner and distributor of frac sand, industrial sand, and aggregates for Western Canada and the United States. We are part of the LaPrairie group of Companies that come with over 35 years of operating experience in Western Canada, 5 years in the United States.

Canadian Silica is currently recruiting Seasonal, Labourer to join our Dawson Creek, BC team. Sea helps perform plant clean up, works with direction from the Plant Supervisor. Ensure full compliance with all safety and operating procedures in the performance of the job.

Salary : $22.00 / hr
Responsibilities
  • Receive directions from Plant Supervisor regarding day-to-day operations and tasks. This work can include manual labor work, helping with plant maintenance, or operational and maintenance work.
  • Perform loading and unloading trucks and rail cars.
  • Perform yard maintenance and cleanup.
  • Maintain tidiness around site and equipment.
  • Responsible for and / or assists in fueling and filling all the fluids in the equipment to the right level. Quantity of fuel and fluids must be written and reported in the inspection log.
  • Assist in the maintenance works of the equipment.
  • Perform various other duties as required by Management.
Skills and Requirements
  • Experience working in an industrial environment preferred.
  • Construction experience considered an asset.
  • Must not be afraid of heights.
  • Mechanically inclined is an asset.
  • Ability to work in a growing, dynamic and changing environment.
  • Self-motivated individual who is proactive and takes initiative; can work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with multiple organizational levels.
  • Optimistic / collaborative approach and attitude towards work.
  • Must be able to do 12-hour shifts day and night rotating schedule.
  • Must have own transportation.
