Job summary

Life Time in Mississauga is seeking a qualified Pilates Instructor to lead private and group classes, build client programs, and promote fitness goals. You will ensure safety and engage members with education on fitness trends.

Qualifications

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, kneel and lift up to 50 pounds.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of personal training experience; 6 months adjusting equipment like Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrel.
• Certified Pilates Trainer; CPR and AED Certification.
• College degree in Kinesiology, Sports Medicine or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops safe, professional client programs to achieve goals and retention.
• Instructs private and group Pilates classes.
• Monitors clients during sessions on equipment for safe use.
• Conducts fitness consultations with new clients and sets goals.
• Promotes Pilates programs and Group Fitness classes to members.
• Completes administrative requirements for each client’s fitness plan.
• Maintains cleanliness of the Pilates studio.
• Keeps current with certifications and industry trends.

Job description

Pilates Instructors are responsible for supporting all members in championing happier, and healthier lives by building and nurturing relationships. They provide a positive member experience that is educational, supporting, and upholds the integrity of the Life Time Brand.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Develops safe, professional, and comprehensive client programs that drive client goal achievement and retention
• Instructs both private and group Pilates classes
• Monitors and instructs clients during Pilates training sessions on the safe and effective use the equipment
• Conducts fitness consultations for new clients including pre-participation screening and goal setting to assess and recommend Pilates training programs
• Promotes and sells Pilates training programs and classes, Group Fitness classes and Personal Training to members
• Completes all administrative requirements associated with each client’s fitness plan
• Maintains the cleanliness of the Pilates studio
• Remains current on certifications and new trends in the industry
• Educates members on current health and fitness issues and trends

Minimum Required Qualifications

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, climb, kneel and lift up to 50 pounds

Education:

• High School Diploma or GED

Years of Experience:

• 1 year of personal training experience
• 6 months of experience in adjusting body alignment, Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Barrel equipment

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:

• Certified Pilates Trainer
• CPR and AED Certified

Preferred Qualifications:

• College degree in Kinesiology, Sports Medicine or other related field

Pay

This position will be paid commissions between 10% and 60% depending on the product and the Team Member's productivity. The weekly minimum pay for the position will be at least applicable minimum wage for each hour worked.
