The Core Lab department at the Edmonton Hub Lab consists of distinct testing areas for Chemistry, Hematology, and Urinalysis. In Core Lab Hematology you will experience a high volume, well organized and efficient environment with strict quality control guidelines in place. The department relies heavily on teamwork to meet operational requirements. Core Lab staff participate in the mentorship and training of students from NAIT and the University of Alberta. The department has a challenging environment where you can demonstrate problem solving, troubleshooting, decision making and time management skills.
As a Medical Laboratory Technologist I, you will be responsible for the daily processing, testing, results analysis and reporting of diagnostic samples within the laboratory department. You will perform a variety of routine and specialized procedures in the processing of specimens used in diagnosis, treatment and research.
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).
Experience within the past 24 months working as a Medical Laboratory Technologist in high volume Hematology, or student experience within the past 24 months.
Experience with the following instrumentation or tests: DxH900, IL TOP, Peripheral smear review, Alethia, Malaria smear review, Infectious mono.
