Job summary

Ontario Agency for Health Protection and Promotion, Ottawa Laboratory, is seeking a Laboratory Attendant 2 to provide technical services and support laboratory operations for specimen testing. The role involves processing specimens, preparing materials, and ensuring accurate data entry within the PHO Laboratory Information System.

This 18-month contract offers full-time hours (36.25 per week) at Ontario Public Service compensation rates and opportunities to contribute to public health testing

Qualifications

• Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician from a recognized community college program or relevant training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Log, sort, and label specimens for testing.
• Transport samples to the testing lab as required.
• Prepare and process medical samples for identification and testing.
• Enter data results for water samples.
• Prepare, load and unload laboratory analyzers.
