Job summary

AGAT Laboratories is seeking a motivated laboratory technician to join our team in Canada. You will perform basic procedures, prepare samples, support the lab, and maintain instruments under guidance.

This role emphasizes accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration within a dynamic, purpose-driven environment. Ideal candidates have chemical training, hands-on lab experience preferred, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education with a chemical degree/diploma or equivalent experience.
• Previous lab experience is an asset; training provided.
• Experience with GC and general lab skills is an asset.
• Strong English communication, both verbal and written.
• Attention to detail and good organizational skills.
• Basic laboratory and computer skills.
• Team player capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic laboratory procedures including preparation of samples, reagents and calibration solutions.
• Provide general lab support including washing glassware, cleaning workstations and waste disposal.
• Operate instruments such as GC-FID and TCD, with guidance from senior staff performing maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting.
• Perform basic analysis.
• Report results.
• Other duties as assigned.
