Compensation

Base Pay: $19/hr + Shift Differential: 8%
Total Pay: $20.52/hr

Summary

Join a fast‑paced laboratory environment where attention to detail, organization, and constant movement are key. Ensure a steady inventory of clean glassware and support documentation management while following strict safety protocols and PPE requirements.

Essential Functions
  • Collect and sort laboratory glassware for washing according to established procedures.
  • Operate laboratory glassware washers, dryers, and pipette washers.
  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of washing machines.
  • Maintain detergent inventory and order replenishments as needed.
  • Inspect glassware for cleanliness before restocking in labs.
  • Manage inventory of glassware, stoppers, and cleaning supplies; initiate orders for shortages.
  • Collect laboratory waste (liquids, syringes, vials) and properly dispose of according to protocols.
  • Assist lab chemists as requested.
  • Regularly coordinate waste removal, including empty reagent bottles, used syringes, filters, and vials.
  • Monitor and maintain lab cleanliness.
  • Digitize, store, photocopy, distribute, file, and archive laboratory documents.
  • Manage off‑site document storage, notebooks, logbooks, and associated databases.
  • Support alternating or rotating shift work, as required.
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum High School Diploma.
  • At least 1 year in a scientific/lab environment.
  • Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Strong oral and written communication.
  • Multi‑tasking ability; detail‑oriented; reliable.
  • Proficient in English.
Physical Requirements
  • Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, and crouch for prolonged periods.
  • Lift, carry, and move items (10‑35 lbs; repetitive lifting up to 50 lbs).
  • Dexterity for grasping, typing, operating lab equipment.
  • Visual acuity and auditory ability for safe equipment operation and communication.
  • Use of PPE such as safety glasses, shoes, lab coat, gloves, apron, and occasionally organic respirator.
