Job summary

Kenvue Inc. is recruiting a Laboratory Coordinator for the second shift on a fixed-term 12‑month basis in Guelph, Ontario. The role supports analytical and microbiology labs, coordinating sample handling, inventories and purchasing while ensuring GMP and safety standards are met.

The successful candidate will work under the Quality Laboratory Supervisor, liaising with R&D, Quality Systems and Operations. A diploma or degree in a relevant field and strong English communication are required.

• Associate's Degree or Diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in pharmaceutical or food industry preferred.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong attention to detail and financial literacy.
• Good interpersonal and collaboration skills.

• Ability to organize and prioritize workload.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate receipt, registration, and organization of samples in LIMS.
• Arrange shipment of samples to external labs as needed.
• Manage purchasing of lab consumables and supplies.
• Maintain chemical inventories for analytical laboratories.
• Coordinate purchasing for lab capital projects and vendor communications.
• Perform lab housekeeping and ensure safety and GMP compliance.
• Participate in continuous improvement projects and site programs.

What you will do

Position Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Quality Laboratory Coordinator to support laboratory testing programs and ensure the efficient operation of our Analytical and Microbiology laboratories.

In this role, you will coordinate the receipt, registration, organization, and shipment of laboratory samples, manage laboratory consumables and chemical inventories, and oversee purchasing activities, including those related to laboratory capital projects.

The successful candidate will also contribute to maintaining laboratory operations in compliance with applicable quality, safety, and regulatory requirements, while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate the receipt, registration, and organization of raw materials, packaging components, production samples, and marketed product stability samples in the laboratory information management systems (LIMS).
• Arrange the shipment of samples to external contract laboratories as required.
• Manage the purchasing of laboratory consumables and supplies, ensuring appropriate inventory levels.
• Order and maintain chemical inventories for the Analytical and Microbiology laboratories.
• Coordinate purchasing activities for laboratory capital projects, including vendor communications, quotation requests, purchase orders, and invoice reconciliation.
• Perform laboratory housekeeping and dishwashing activities as required.
• Complete assigned training through the Learning Management System.
• Participate in laboratory projects, including compliance, cost improvement, and other initiatives.
• Support continuous improvement projects and participate in site programs, committees, audits, and inspections.
• Follow established SOPs and contribute to a safe working environment in accordance with GMP, health, safety, environmental, and corporate requirements.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, GDP, and GLP principles, as well as internal solution and calibration test methods, specifications, and applicable regulatory and corporate policies.

Required Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or Diploma.
• Experience working in the pharmaceutical or food industry.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Financial literacy and strong attention to detail.
• Good interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a dynamic, fast-paced team environment.
• Demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize workload.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Science.
• Previous laboratory experience.
• Educational background in Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or Microbiology.
• Working knowledge of a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS).
• Understanding of GMP and drug product regulations.
