We’re looking for a dedicated Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our collaborative healthcare team at Sacred Heart Laboratory. You’ll enjoy a varied, hands-on role: collecting, preparing, and handling specimens for analysis; performing ECGs and phlebotomy; supporting accurate data entry and patient record management; maintaining equipment and ensuring a safe, efficient lab environment; and collaborating closely with technologists, nurses, and physicians.
- Remote Retention Allowance of up to $3,000 annually (non-pensionable), paid on an hourly basis for all hours worked at the basic rate of pay.
- Flexible 0.8 FTE schedule in a vibrant northern Alberta community.
- Preference will be given to certified Medical Laboratory Assistants. Onsite and online training opportunities are available for the right candidates with a strong interest in learning and healthcare.
Responsibilities
- Provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner.
- Procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
- Collaborate with technologists, nurses and physicians as needed.

Qualifications
- Required Qualifications: Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
- Additional Required Qualifications: As required.
- Preferred Qualifications: Successful completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program; Registration (or eligibility) with CSMLS or equivalent provincial regulatory body; strong phlebotomy skills and patient-first approach; excellent attention to detail and communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a small team.
