A community health facility in Canada seeks a Medical Laboratory Assistant I to provide high-quality service in a clinical laboratory. The role involves various laboratory functions including procurement, handling, and testing of specimens. Candidates must have relevant training and experience in phlebotomy and urinalysis. This part-time position offers flexibility with shift patterns and competitive compensation from $23.72 to $29.56 per hour.
As a Medical Laboratory Assistant I, you will provide high quality service to clients of the clinical laboratory in an effective, efficient and safe manner. You will be responsible for a variety of laboratory functions including procurement, handling, processing, dispatching and testing of specimens, performing procedures and reporting results.
Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited urinalysis course, including theory and practical. Phlebotomy experience within the last 2 years.
Urinalysis experience within the last 2 years. Recent experience using EPIC Beaker and Rover is an asset.
