Qualifications

• Completion of secondary-school level education and a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant training program.
• Experience providing exceptional, professional customer focused service in a demanding and frequently changing environment.
• Demonstrated ability to self-manage, prioritize and collaborate in a team-oriented, high volume, time-sensitive environment.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) at an intermediate level.
• Knowledge of laboratory procedures and ability to apply that knowledge in troubleshooting issues and providing recommendations for solutions.

• Ensures that all samples are properly identified, data entered, and labeled.
• Follows established protocol(s) for the handling of unsuitable samples.
• Ensures all client inquiries and problems are handled in a courteous and professional manner.

We’re looking for a Specimen Processing Laboratory Assistant to join our team in Brampton, Ontario. As a Lab Assistant you will be responsible for processing of laboratory specimens and/or entering requisitions and/or results accurately and in a timely manner and ensure quality control checks and standards are run as required. Your contributions will make a difference and will greatly impact the downstream solutions and treatment critical to saving someone’s life.

Status-Contract 12 months

Shift - Monday to Thursday 10 PM to 6 AM, Sunday 5 PM to 1 AM

Number of positions available - 1

Work style - 100% on site

Start Date - ASAP

• May sit or stand for prolonged period of time with extensive computer use
• Required to lift a maximum of 30 pounds as required
