A regional educational institution in Duncan, BC, is seeking a non-instructional Pharmacy Technician lab support role to assist with clinical skills courses. Candidates should hold a Pharmacy Technician diploma and be currently working in a community or hospital pharmacy. Commitment to teaching and diversity is essential. VIU's Faculty of Health Sciences and Human Services is seeking individuals who are interested in a non-instructional Pharmacy Technician lab support role to deliver clinical skills courses within the Pharmacy Technician diploma program at the Cowichan campus for July and August 2026. The support technician is expected to work in collaboration with the course instructor.
This program is delivered in partnership with Selkirk College.

Candidates must demonstrate commitment to teaching, learning, and student success. Successful candidates will participate in activities outside the classroom including student support and department committees.

To assist in PTEC 220 Technology for Product Distribution & PTEC 221 Prescription Dispensing Intake, the incumbents must be currently working in a Community setting and have a firm knowledge of KROLL and all Community based processes.
To assist in PTEC 223 Institutional Dispensing and Sterile Product Preparation, incumbents must be currently working in a hospital setting and be Certified in aseptic compounding techniques in accordance with the NAPRA Model Standards for Pharmacy Compounding of Sterile Preparations (hazardous and non-hazardous).
To assist in PTEC 224 Non-Sterile Compounding, incumbents must be currently working in a Community or Hospital setting and have a firm understanding of non-sterile compounding processes.
