Job summary

Sodexo Canada Ltd is seeking a Kitchen General Helper for the Mt Milligan remote site. You’ll join a team keeping operations running, assisting with meal prep, food service, and basic kitchen duties in a remote living environment.

You’ll work a short contract with fly-in/fly-out travel, meals and accommodation included, and a wage of CAD 22 per hour. Prior kitchen experience is preferred, safety and teamwork are essential.

Responsibilities

• During your mandate, you will be asked to operate a variety of kitchen utensils to weigh, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, grind, stir, strain, seasons and knead foodstuffs for cooking, serving, and storing.
• Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
• Inspects workstations for compliance with service standards.
• Keeps records and requisition for supplies/equipment as needed.
• Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment following all Sodexo, client and regulatory rules and procedures.
• May have basic cooking responsibilities, i.e., cook vegetables, chicken for salads.
• You may be required to wash dishes, glasses and utensils by hand or with a dishwasher, maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen (floors, equipment and material), emptying the garbage cans and transporting the garbage to the appropriate containers.
