Job summary

Sodexo Group is seeking a General Helper to support remote site operations at Mt Milligan. You will be part of a kitchen team, assisting with meal prep, facilities support, and daily duties to ensure a safe, comfortable work environment for workers living away from home.

The role requires at least 1 year in a similar role, a team-first mindset, and the ability to lift and stand for long periods. Flights to site are covered; meals and accommodation are included for the two-week contract.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Operate a variety of kitchen utensils to weigh, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, grind, stir, strain, and knead foodstuffs for cooking, serving and storing.
• Assist in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods and properly stores food per safety standards.
• Inspect workstations for compliance with service standards.
• Keep records and requisition for supplies/equipment as needed.
• Clean and sanitize workstations and equipment following all Sodexo, client and regulatory rules and procedures.
• May have basic cooking responsibilities, e.g., cook vegetables and chicken for salads.
• Wash dishes and utensils by hand or with a dishwasher; manage cleanliness of the kitchen and dispose of waste.

As a General Helper you will:

During your mandate, you will be asked to operate a variety of kitchen utensils to weigh, measure, mix, wash, peel, cut, grind, stir, strain, seasons and knead foodstuffs for cooking, serving, and storing.
Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly stores food, utilizing
knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
Inspects workstations for compliance with service standards.
Keeps records and requisition for supplies/equipment as needed.
Cleans and sanitizes workstations and equipment following all Sodexo, client and
regulatory rules and procedures.
May have basic cooking responsibilities, i.e., cook vegetables, chicken for salads.
You may be required to wash dishes, glasses and utensils by hand or with a dishwasher, maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen (floors, equipment and material), emptying the garbage cans and transporting the garbage to the appropriate containers.
