Job summary

Halton Group in Mississauga, Canada is seeking a maintenance technician to service commercial kitchen grease exhaust systems. You will clean and certify exhaust hoods by power washing, maintain rooftop fans, and install accessory components while delivering professional customer service.

Candidates should have HVAC/technical field experience, strong time management, and good communication. Must hold a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle to travel to job sites, with schedule

Qualifications

• Completion of college / university or technical school.
• Previous technical or field service experience in electrical and mechanical.
• Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle.
• Ability to work varying hours including late evenings to early mornings.
• Knowledge of electrical and building codes is an asset.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Maintain kitchen grease exhaust systems by removing the fuel that may create kitchen fires.
• Clean and certify restaurant kitchen exhaust hood systems by power washing.
• Clean roof top exhaust fans and surrounding areas.
• Install auxiliary items including access panels, hinge kits and grease containment systems.
• Provide exceptional customer service while representing the company.
• Work mainly night shifts when commercial kitchens are closed.

Knowledge And Skills

• Working knowledge / experience with commercial kitchen ventilation or HVAC systems / kitchen exhaust.
• Field experience in HVAC, mechanical, electrical and controls systems preferred.
• Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and possesses strong time management skills.
• Excellent problem solving and resolution skills required.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities while paying attention to detail and organization.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with all levels of the organization.

Education And Experience

• Completion of college / university or technical school.
• Previous technical experience / field service experience (electrical and mechanical).
• Maintain a valid driver's license and a clean driving record to drive company vehicles to job sites.
• Must have access to a vehicle for commuting to and from work locations.
• Ability to work a varying schedule including late evening to early morning hours.
• Ability to access and tolerate small crawl spaces and work in high places.
• Knowledge of electrical codes and building codes is an asset.
