Job summary

Longo's is seeking a Kitchen Assistant Department Manager in Hamilton, ON, a full-time leadership role in a fast-paced retail kitchen setting. You will assist the Food Service Manager to ensure daily operations run smoothly, mentor team members, and uphold health and safety standards.

This position offers opportunities for growth within a supportive team and requires availability to work days, evenings, and weekends while traveling for off-site events as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-year experience in a food service department.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to build relationships with team members and customers.
• Ability to lead, coach, motivate and work in a fast paced environment.
• Strong communication and listening skills.
• Ownership to resolve issues with a sense of urgency.

Responsibilities

• Motivate and mentor Team Members.
• Provide support with regular team meetings.
• Coach and train Team Members to maintain high productivity.
• Handle Team Member and customer issues.
• Uphold company policies including health & safety, food safety and loss prevention.
• Merchandise, manage inventory and schedule to meet financial objectives.
• Provide exceptional customer service to all Team Members, Customers and Vendors.
