Aramark is seeking a General Utility Worker to keep dishes, equipment and work areas clean and safe in Calgary, Alberta. You'll perform kitchen cleaning, floor care and routine disinfection as part of a busy service team.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning, custodial, housekeeping, or environmental services experience preferred.
• Experience in a commercial kitchen environment is an asset.
• Ability to work independently during overnight hours.

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Responsibilities

• Kitchen Cleaning: Clean and maintain kitchen floors, walls, doors, and non-food-contact surfaces.
• Floor Care: Operate floor scrubbers and scrub floors; remove spills and hazards.
• Cleaning and Disinfection: Clean and disinfect designated surfaces; follow chemical procedures.
• Safety and Equipment: Follow WHMIS and PPE requirements; report hazards and maintain equipment.
• Replenish cleaning supplies as needed.

Job Responsibilities

Kitchen Cleaning

• Clean and maintain kitchen floors, walls, doors, and non-food-contact surfaces.
• Sweep, mop, scrub, and wash kitchen floors using approved cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Sweep and clean underneath tables, shelving units, carts, and equipment.
• Remove dirt, dust, grease buildup, and debris from designated areas.
• Clean baseboards, corners, floor drains, and hard-to-reach areas.
• Empty garbage and recycling containers and replace liners.

Floor Care

• Operate floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment safely.
• Scrub floors to maintain cleanliness and appearance.
• Remove spills and ensure floors remain free of slip hazards.
• Maintain cleanliness in kitchen corridors, storage rooms, and support areas.

Cleaning and Disinfection

• Clean and disinfect designated non-food-contact surfaces in accordance with site procedures.
• Follow proper chemical usage, storage, and dilution procedures.
• Ensure all assigned areas meet cleanliness and infection prevention standards.

Safety and Equipment

• Follow all workplace safety, WHMIS, and PPE requirements.
• Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or building deficiencies to the supervisor.
• Maintain cleaning equipment in good working condition.
• Replenish cleaning supplies as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a commercial kitchen environment is an asset.
• Ability to work independently during overnight hours.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
• Frequent bending, kneeling, lifting, pushing, and pulling.
• Ability to lift up to 25 kg (55 lbs).
• Ability to safely operate floor cleaning equipment and handle cleaning chemicals.

This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
