Job summary

Aspira West Park Crossing Retirement Living in Moose Jaw, SK is hiring for a Kitchen Assistant on a temporary part-time basis. The role involves dishwashing, serving, setting up equipment, and supporting food service operations according to safety standards.

Schedule rotates with weekends and requires Grade 12 or higher, plus at least one year of dishwashing or serving experience, and valid Safe Food Handling and Serve It Right certificates. The position is for 1 year.

Qualifications

This is a Temporary Part-Time position with 40 hours biweekly.

Term: 1 year

Schedule Rotation

Week 1:

• Friday 10:00AM-6:30PM
• Sat 7:00AM-3:30PM
• Sun 7:00AM-3:30PM

Week 2

• Sat 7:00AM-3:30PM
• Sun 7:00AM-3:30PM

As a Kitchen Assistant your typical day will impact in the following ways:

• Dishwashing and serving.
• Clearing tables, take out garbage, recycling, vacuuming
• Setting up equipment and supplies for food preparation.
• Receiving, checking and storing food and supply deliveries in accordance with food safety standards, Health and Safety standards and prescribed practices.
• Monitoring quality and quantity of food supplies received and advises the team leader on duty of problems.
• Reporting food, supply, and equipment needs to the team leader.
• Assisting with the delivery, set-up and removal of food for special events, buffets and catered functions.
• Completing assigned cleaning tasks according to instructions and cleaning schedules.
• Performing other duties as assigned.

Must Haves

• Minimum Grade 12 education.
• Minimum one year experience in Dishwashing and/or Serving.
• Must have a valid Safe Food Handling Certificate.
• Must have a valid Serve it Right Certificate.
• Must possess good public relations and communication skills.
• Demonstrates a positive attitude necessary to meet the goals and standards of the residence.
• Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for the majority of the shift.
• All applicants must successfully pass the prescribed Vulnerable Sector Check.
