Job summary

Holy Spirit Catholic School Division is seeking a Kindergarten Education Assistant for St. Joseph School in Coaldale. This 28.0 hour per week role begins Sept 8, 2026 and ends June 10, 2027, under CUPE 1825 Support Staff. Successful applicants must provide required documents before employment. Posting #4063872.

Qualifications

• Hanen Learning Language and Loving It Certification.
• At least one year experience in Childhood Program or with children with special needs.
• Experience with proactive positive intervention for child behaviours.
• Ability to provide supports and cues for sound production as directed by Speech Language Pathologist.
• Ability to match activities and model appropriate behaviours at child's functioning level.
• Willingness to obtain First Aid Training.
• May require toileting and daily living skills assistance.
• Ability to work effectively in a trans-disciplinary team.
• Ability to take direction from the professional team.
• Must be physically able to engage in an active ECS environment.

KINDERGARTEN EDUCATION ASSISTANT – St. Joseph School

This position is open to all internal and external candidates. Prior to employment, successful applicants must provide supporting documents as outlined on our New Employees page.

We are looking to hire a continuous 28.0 hour per week Kindergarten Education Assistant to work at St. Joseph School in Coaldale. This assignment is to commence September 8, 2026 and end June 10, 2027. This position is covered by the CUPE 1825 Support Staff collective agreement. Please quote Posting #4063872.

Required Skills

• Hanen Learning Language and Loving It Certification;
• At least one-year experience working in Childhood Program and/or with children with special needs;
