Job summary

A leading education service provider in Canada is seeking enthusiastic educators for their Burnaby location. Responsibilities include creating engaging learning experiences for students from Kindergarten to Grade 12 in Reading, Writing, and Math. Applicants should possess teaching credentials or be in post-secondary education, preferably with teaching experience. Strong communication skills and the ability to motivate students are essential. Flexible scheduling is required, with shifts primarily in the afternoons and evenings, allowing for a positive and impactful teaching environment.

Qualifications

  • Teaching credentials or currently attending post-secondary education with intent to pursue education.
  • Preferred experience of one or two years in teaching.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare instructional sessions and materials.
  • Engage with students and initiate instruction.
  • Instruct and evaluate students using Sylvan programs.
  • Track student progress and communicate needs to staff.
  • Attend staff meetings and ongoing training.

Skills

Strong communication skills (written and verbal) in English
Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire students
Knowledge of iPads, Zoom, Google Drive/Docs and Microsoft Word
Ability to multi-task and be flexible
Reliable form of transportation

Education

Teaching credentials OR attending post-secondary (minimum 3rd year)
Minimum of one or two years of teaching experience preferred
