Job Description

We are seeking Junior Systems / Systems Integration, Verification, and Validation (SI V&V) Engineering Analysts to support the integration, verification, and testing of mission and communication systems used in aerospace and maritime defence. In this role, you will work within Agile, multidisciplinary teams on applied systems engineering activities, including system integration, verification and validation, and both automated and manual testing conducted in lab and field settings. You will contribute to system development efforts across the lifecycle, working alongside experienced engineers on programs supporting the Canadian Air Force and Navy.

This posting supports multiple junior Systems / SI V&V engineering opportunities beginning May 2026 and is well suited for recent or upcoming Engineering and Applied Science graduates.

In this role you may…

  • Review system, subsystem, and product requirements, interface control documents, design documents, and use cases to support integration and verification activities.
  • Develop integration, verification, and validation plans, test cases, procedures, configurations, and expected outcomes in alignment with system and product designs.
  • Perform firmware, software, and system-level integration and verification testing for new and evolving capabilities deployed on aircraft, naval vessels, or unmanned platforms.
  • Build, configure, and maintain laboratory and field-based test environments, including system setups used to investigate defects or validate new functionality.
  • Execute formal and informal test procedures; collect, analyze, and interpret test data; and contribute to test reports, defect summaries, and verification evidence.
  • Identify, investigate, document, and support resolution of integration issues and defects; verify corrective actions.
  • Develop, generate, and maintain automated or semi-automated test scripts and tools to improve integration and verification efficiency.
  • Support system qualification, acceptance, customer installation, external validation events, and field trials.
  • Collaborate with systems, software, hardware, and integration teams within Agile and Integrated Product Team environments to deliver integrated system capabilities.
  • Contribute to requirement-to-test traceability and verification mapping.
  • Review technical documentation and provide analysis and feedback to support integration and verification activities.
  • Share technical knowledge, present findings, and contribute to continuous improvement and team learning initiatives.
  • Build technical capability in air and naval systems integration, verification, and validation, while expanding domain knowledge in aerospace, maritime, and mission-critical communication systems.
Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Physics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, including root cause analysis.
  • Ability to understand and reason about complex technical systems and subsystem interactions.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to document results and present technical information.
  • Enthusiastic contributor, willing to learn new skills, and takes ownership of assigned work.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Preferred

  • Exposure to system integration, verification, and validation activities at the system or subsystem level.
  • Experience developing and executing integration, qualification, or acceptance tests.
  • Familiarity with requirements, configuration, or test management tools (e.g., DOORS, Enterprise Architect, IBM RTC/EWM, ClearQuest, Code Collaborator).
  • Experience working in lab-based environments, including system setup, configuration, troubleshooting, and test execution.
  • Exposure to aerospace or naval systems, including avionics, sonar, acoustic processing, mission data management, or simulation/training platforms.
  • Familiarity with enterprise or tactical networking concepts, including Ethernet, IP networking, VLANs, and wireless communication principles.
  • Experience with automated test frameworks or scripting tools (e.g., Python, Robot Framework).
  • Familiarity with troubleshooting, analysis, or simulation tools used in system verification.
  • Experience working within Agile or iterative development environments.
  • Exposure to customer-facing test events, field trials, or operational validation activities.
  • Interest in air and naval defense systems, mission systems, or system-of-systems integration.
How We Work
  • Work Schedule: 37.5 hours per week - flexible within core business hours.
  • Work Arrangement: A mix of onsite and remote work, as determined by business and role requirements.

It is a requirement that General Dynamics Mission Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods program and that all of its workforce be security assessed. Successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including but not limited to the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance. Applicants may be required to meet additional security requirements in order to gain access to technical data, classified areas or information that is subject to international regulations. You must be eligible to work in Canada.
