  • Role Overview – Eataly is the world’s largest artisanal Italian food and beverage marketplace. Each Eataly has its own character and theme but all aim to provide guests with delicious, high-quality Italian products and experiences.
  • Position Title – Lead Cook transforms high-quality ingredients into authentic Italian dishes, prepares, cooks, plates food items in high-volume, open kitchens while overseeing other prep cooks. Reports to Sous Chefs, Sous Chef Manager, and Chef de Cuisine of Central Kitchen.
  • Key Responsibilities
    • Oversee other prep cooks and ensure performance standards during service.
    • Portion, cut, slice, dip, batter, bread, whip, beat, maintain holding temperature, fry and sauté.
    • Select cuts of meat, poultry, shellfish, fish, game or vegetables for frying or sautéing.
    • Plate menu items with appropriate garnish.
    • Follow recipes and comply with portion sizes, quality standards, department rules and procedures, and Department of Health regulations.
    • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
  • Qualifications
    • 2+ years in a production kitchen.
    • Degree from a culinary arts training program preferred.
    • Availability to work onsite with a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
    • Ability to exert well-paced mobility for up to 8 hours, including standing, walking, bending and squatting.
    • Ability to use commercial kitchen equipment including stand mixers, ovens, torches, etc.
