Job summary

Personnel Alter Ego, a general contractor in Montreal, seeks a junior site superintendent to help coordinate commercial construction projects. You will ensure equipment availability, supervise subcontractors, and keep schedules on track while maintaining a positive on-site climate.

Responsibilities include administrative tasks, plan interpretation, daily progress reporting, safety enforcement, and collaboration with the project manager—supporting project success from start to finish.

Qualifications

• College diploma in architectural technology or equivalent experience.
• 2 to 5 years of experience in site coordination.
• Versatility of construction skills (generalist).
• Ability to work long hours (availability).
• Good French and English (oral).

Responsibilities

• Familiarize subcontractors with the plan and their responsibilities.
• Review final product to understand the project.
• Occasionally prepare or revise quantity calculations.
• Source materials and, if needed, pick up materials.
• Update plans for smooth project execution.
• Plan and re-adjust subcontractor work during construction.
• Monitor daily work to respect plans and deadlines.
• Validate specifications with client or architect when needed.
• Discuss progress daily with the project manager.
• Keep a daily binder with hours, schedule and contacts.
• Attend weekly site meetings.
