Job summary

LAPORTE in Canada is seeking a Refrigeration Engineer with 1–2 years’ experience in industrial refrigeration design and analysis. This hybrid role spans food & beverage, pharmaceutical, and biotech process systems across our Canadian offices.

Reporting to the Lead Engineer, you will design, analyze, and implement refrigeration solutions, draft CAD layouts, perform code compliance audits, and collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure project success.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of experience in industrial refrigeration system design and analysis.
• Member of a Canadian provincial Engineering Association either as P.Eng or EIT.
• Familiarity with ammonia and CO2 refrigeration systems.
• Knowledge of refrigeration and piping codes and standards.
• Degree or diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work independently or with teams.
• Proficiency in MS Word and Excel; ability to use technology-driven communication tools.
• Ability to travel internationally and hold a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate on the design and analysis of refrigeration plants and systems.

• Supervise and perform drafting of refrigeration system schematics and layouts in Revit and/or Plant3D.
• Conduct safety and code compliance audits.
• Develop refrigeration-related SOPs, HAZOPS, and other safety analyses.
• Conduct site inspections of refrigeration systems.
• Write, format, and proofread specifications, proposals, reports, templates, and other documents.
• Organize and maintain project records.
• Provide support and build relationships with new and existing clients.
• Collaborate with internal and external team members to ensure project success.

Canada LAPORTE is seeking a Refrigeration Engineer with 1 to 2 years of experience in industrial refrigeration system design and analysis.

This hybrid position is available in all of our office locations in Canada.
