Imagine working alongside over 1,000 top-tier engineers, architects, and planners, all dedicated to shaping the future of infrastructure and development.

About the Role

The RAMS Engineer supports the development and execution of the Reliability, Availability, Maintainability, and Safety (RAMS) program for the LRT project. This role is responsible for conducting RAMS analyses, maintaining safety documentation, and ensuring that Rolling Stock, Signaling and Control, Power Infrastructure, and OMSF systems comply with safety standards and performance requirements throughout design, construction, and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct reliability predictions, availability modeling, and maintainability assessments using fault tree analysis, reliability block diagrams, and FMEA/FMECA methodologies.
  • Perform preliminary hazard analysis (PHA), system hazard analysis (SHA), and subsystem hazard analysis (SSHA) for project systems.
  • Maintain and update the hazard log, ensuring all identified hazards are tracked through to closure with appropriate mitigations documented.
  • Support the development of safety cases and safety justification reports for regulatory submission.
  • Review contractor and supplier RAMS deliverables including reliability predictions, FMECA reports, and safety documentation for compliance with project requirements.
  • Ensure RAMS activities comply with EN 50126, EN 50128, EN 50129, and applicable local regulatory frameworks.
  • Develop and maintain safety requirements traceability matrices linking hazards to design mitigations and verification evidence.
  • Participate in design reviews to verify RAMS requirements are embedded into system and subsystem specifications.
  • Collect and analyze failure data, MTBF, MTTR, and operational availability metrics during testing and commissioning.
  • Support system integration testing by verifying RAMS acceptance criteria are met prior to trial running and revenue service.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and incident investigations during commissioning and early operations.
  • Prepare RAMS performance reports and presentations for project leadership and client stakeholders.
  • Interface with the Independent Safety Assessor (ISA) and support safety audit activities as required.
  • Contribute to the development of operational safety procedures including normal operations, degraded modes, and emergency scenarios.
What do we need from you
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Systems, or Safety Engineering); Master’s degree is an asset.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation.
  • 0-3 years of experience in RAMS engineering on rail, metro, or transit projects.
  • Working knowledge of CENELEC railway safety standards including EN 50126, EN 50128, and EN 50129.
  • Practical experience conducting hazard analysis, risk assessment, and contributing to safety case development.
  • Proficiency with RAMS analysis tools such as PTC Windchill, Isograph Reliability Workbench, ITEM ToolKit, or equivalent.
  • Understanding of Safety Integrity Level (SIL) requirements and functional safety principles for signaling and control systems.
  • Experience with reliability prediction techniques, availability modeling, and statistical failure analysis.
  • Familiarity with CSM-RA (Common Safety Method for Risk Assessment) and local safety regulations is an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail in assessing complex technical risks.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for preparing technical documentation and interfacing with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with engineering teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
  • Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or working toward functional safety certification is desirable.
