Job summary

TWD in Burlington, ON is seeking a Junior Process Engineer to support process engineering activities across energy projects under guidance from experienced engineers. You will contribute to PFDs, P&IDs, datasheets, and technical documentation, while developing skills in process calculations, equipment sizing, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0–3 years of process engineering experience within energy, oil & gas, or industrial sectors.
• Understanding of fundamental process engineering principles and calculations.
• Familiarity with industry codes, standards and engineering best practices.
• General knowledge of process engineering software and design tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Effective written and verbal communication in a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks with attention to detail and quality.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing PFDs, P&IDs, process descriptions and reports.
• Perform routine process engineering calculations, including material and energy balances, hydraulic calculations, and equipment sizing under supervision.
• Support development and review of process datasheets and technical specifications for process equipment.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback into engineering deliverables.
• Support execution of projects through concept, FEED, detailed design, and commissioning support.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure integrated and coordinated project delivery.
• Assist with technical evaluations, document reviews, and engineering change management activities.
• Contribute to meeting project schedules, quality requirements, and client expectations.
• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation per procedures.
• Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in hazard identification and process safety reviews (HAZID/HAZOP) as appropriate.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing within the team.
