Job summary

Johnson Electric is seeking a Jr. PLC Specialist in Stratford, ON to design, develop and support automation and control systems onsite. You will program PLCs, develop HMI interfaces, and integrate robotics to improve production reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience with industrial controls and robotics in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lead and support automation projects when required.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working in multidisciplinary engineering and maintenance teams.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement industrial control systems for manufacturing equipment.
  • Program and troubleshoot PLC systems including Allen Bradley, Siemens, and Omron platforms.
  • Develop and maintain HMI applications and operator interfaces.
  • Program and support servo motion control systems.
  • Program, integrate, and troubleshoot robotic systems including Fanuc, ABB, and KUKA robots.
  • Integrate electrical and automation systems into new and existing manufacturing equipment.
  • Design control panels, electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and bills of materials (BOMs).
  • Troubleshoot electrical systems including wiring, fuses, and industrial power distribution systems.
  • Support automation cell improvements and equipment upgrades.
  • Train and support maintenance personnel on automation system operation, functionality, and troubleshooting.
  • Mentor licensed electricians in PLC programming and controls troubleshooting techniques.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects related to automation, controls, and robotics.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
