Job summary

Gorbern Mechanical Contractors Ltd. in Toronto is seeking a Junior Mechanical Piping Take-Off Estimator to support the pre-construction team by measuring and quantifying HVAC piping, process piping, plumbing, and hydronic systems for ICI projects.

Under the guidance of senior estimators, you will learn to read blueprints, generate foundational take-offs, request BOMs, draft RFIs, and coordinate with suppliers to gather quotes for tendered works.

Qualifications

• Foundational blueprint literacy and ability to interpret plans, isometrics, and schematics.
• Experience with digital takeoff tools and MS Office.
• Comfort with geometric, volumetric, and dimensional calculations.
• Knowledge of HVAC piping, process piping, plumbing, and hydronic systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Learn and apply digital estimation tools to measure pipe lengths, configurations, fittings, valves, and hanger structures.
• Assist in compiling, filtering, and organizing tender documents and drawings.
• Request and save BOMs for review and input.
• Draft RFIs for discrepancies in blueprints for supervisor review.
• Coordinate with material suppliers and sub-trades to collect quotes for tendered projects.
