We’re looking for a Junior IT Technician who’s passionate about technology, eager to learn, and excited to work in a collaborative, hands‑on environment. You’ll be part of a supportive team that values professionalism, curiosity, and client success.

What You’ll Do

As a Junior IT Technician at Plextec, you’ll be part of our frontline technical team, helping maintain and support our clients’ IT systems and data center operations.

Your responsibilities include:
  • Monitoring IT systems and responding to alerts using Plextec’s monitoring tools
  • Troubleshooting network, server, application, and hardware issues
  • Performing backups, patching, and regular maintenance
  • Providing Tier 1 and Tier 2 support to clients via phone, remote tools, and onsite visits
  • Logging and tracking all issues in our incident/ticketing system (ConnectWise PSA or equivalent)
  • Assisting in maintaining and supporting:
  • Networking (Firewalls, Routers, Switches, Access Points)
  • Windows Servers (Active Directory, Exchange, Hyper‑V)
  • Linux/UNIX systems
  • Proxmox clusters and backups
  • Server and SAN hardware in our data centers
  • Working with senior technicians and service desk teams to resolve escalated issues
  • Following change management and security protocols for all customer‑impacting work

What You’ll Bring
Education & Experience
  • Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related IT field — or equivalent experience
  • 1–2 years of experience in a technical support, systems, or network role
Technical Skills
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and Windows Server environments
  • Experience with:
    • Hyper‑V (required)
    • Proxmox (required)
    • Mikrotik Routers and routing (required)
    • Azure, Microsoft 365, and AWS (asset)
    • 3CX PBX, Citrix XEN, FreeNAS, UNIX/Linux/BSD (asset)
  • Understanding of firewall, VPN, and routing concepts
  • Familiarity with data center operations and IT service delivery best practices
  • Valid G driver’s license and reliable vehicle (for onsite support)
  • Excellent English communication skills
