POSITION: Junior IT Specialist

COMPANY AND LOCATION: Auxilium Health, Head Office

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time (Permanent)

HOURS WORKED: 37.5 hours / week

DEPARTMENT: Administration

REPORTING TO: Manager, Computer and Information Systems

Position Summary

The Junior IT Specialist role is a critical support role in the Information Technology department, reporting to the Manager, Computer and Information Systems. The Junior IT Specialist will be responsible for the maintenance of networking systems and devices, as well as server updates.

General Responsibilities & Essential Functions
  • Provide support, such as performing diagnostics and troubleshooting employee equipment
  • Maintain multiple servers, both physical and cloud
  • Create access cards for in office staff and provide reports for door access as required
  • Set up workstations, such as computers, monitors, printers, and scanners for new deployments, or position changes
  • Cable and wire management in the building. I.e. running cables throughout building units.
  • Manage and count inventory for employee assets (Laptops, desktops, scanners, printers, etc.), toners, ink and putting it through the HRIS system
  • Supporting users in the head office and offsite locations with their requests sent through the ticketing system
  • Maintain a filing system to note serial numbers of assets and which staff they are assigned to.
  • Check servers off hours when updates or outages occur
  • Installing and setting up software such as Kroll, PK Software, FedEx Ship Manager
  • Manage and set up Voice Over IP
  • Monitoring network security to detect security breaches and unauthorized access.
Qualifications
  • Must have knowledge of Hyper-V, VMware vSphere (ESXi and vCenter) and infrastructure
  • Must have knowledge of installing, configuring, maintaining and monitoring Windows Server 2016 / 2019 Enterprise server
  • Must have UniFi Controller service or Unifi Enterprise management knowledge.
  • Knowledge of Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, AWS and Kroll is an asset
  • Google Certification is an asset
