Job summary

A leading infrastructure design firm is looking for a passionate recent graduate to join its Ontario Highway Design Team in Mississauga. This role offers comprehensive training on highway design tools and real-world experience through site visits. Candidates should have a degree in Engineering (Civil preferred) and a collaborative mindset, with the intent to register as a Professional Engineer in Ontario. Qualifications

  • Some experience in highway/roadway design (an asset), ideally on MTO projects.
  • Intent to register as a Professional Engineer in Ontario when eligible.
  • A valid G driver’s license (an asset).

Responsibilities

  • Learn all aspects of highway and drainage design using cutting-edge tools.
  • Participate in site visits to observe and document existing conditions.
  • Prepare technical analyses and cost estimates.
  • Develop designs based on planning strategies.
  • Attend technical meetings and contribute to team discussions.
  • Review designs and ensure top-quality deliverables.

What you can expect to do here
  • Comprehensive Training & Mentorship: Learn all aspects of highway and drainage design using cutting-edge tools like InRoads, OpenRoads, MicroStation, Civil 3D, AutoCAD, AutoTurn, BIM software (Navisworks, Dynamo, Power BI), and more
  • Field Experience: Participate in site visits to observe and document existing conditions
  • Hands-On Design Work: Prepare technical analyses, alignments, geometrics, cost estimates, quantity calculations, reports, and technical memos
  • Innovative Design Solutions: Develop designs based on planning strategies and pre-engineering studies
  • Collaborative Environment: Attend technical meetings, prepare presentations, and contribute to team discussions
  • Quality Assurance: Review and check designs and drawings to ensure top-quality deliverables
What you’ll bring to WSP
