Job summary

WSP GTA West is seeking an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer to support and supervise geotechnical investigations and contribute to engineering projects across Ontario. You will work closely with engineers to deliver high‑quality technical work and gain hands‑on experience on a range of project types.

The role involves fieldwork, report preparation, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, with focus on safety and professional growth as you pursue P.Eng. eligibility.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s considered an asset).
• 1–3 years of relevant post‑degree experience in geotechnical consulting.
• Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with PEO.
• Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Supervise geotechnical investigations including test pitting, borehole drilling, and in‑situ testing
• Coordinate geotechnical investigation and laboratory testing
• Complete geotechnical analyses such as bearing capacity, settlement, and slope stability under the guidance of intermediate and senior engineers
• Provide technical support on geotechnical projects, including field investigations and interpretation of laboratory test results
• Assist senior team members in preparing geotechnical studies, proposals, and engineering reports for projects of low to medium complexity
• Participate in and promote a safety‑first culture

As an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer in our GTA West Group, you will support and supervise geotechnical investigations and contribute to engineering projects that shape the future of infrastructure across Ontario. Working closely with intermediate and senior engineers, you will help deliver high-quality technical work, gain hands‑on experience across a range of project types, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, innovative solutions for public and private sector clients.

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $66,700 – $88,400

MB & ON: $60,900 – $83,800

NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $60,300 – $80,000
