Job summary

WSP is seeking an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer for the GTA West Group in Mississauga. You will supervise geotechnical investigations, assist with project delivery, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to devise practical solutions for infrastructure projects across Ontario.

You will gain hands-on experience, work with intermediate and senior engineers, and contribute to public and private sector client engagements while upholding a safety‑first culture on site and in the field.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering is required.
• 1–3 years of post‑degree geotechnical consulting experience preferred.
• Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with PEO.
• Strong writing and communication skills; safety orientation.

Responsibilities

• Supervise geotechnical investigations including test pits and boreholes.
• Coordinate geotechnical investigation and lab testing activities.
• Perform bearing capacity, settlement, and slope stability analyses under guidance.
• Provide field support, interpret lab results, and assist with reports.
• Contribute to proposals and engineering reports for low-to-medium complexity projects.
• Participate in and promote a safety‑first culture.

As an Entry Level Geotechnical Engineer in our GTA West Group, you will support and supervise geotechnical investigations and contribute to engineering projects that shape the future of infrastructure across Ontario. Working closely with intermediate and senior engineers, you will help deliver high-quality technical work, gain hands‑on experience across a range of project types, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop practical, innovative solutions for public and private sector clients.

Your Impact

• Supervise geotechnical investigations including test pitting, borehole drilling, and in‑situ testing
• Support the coordination of geotechnical investigation and laboratory testing
• Complete geotechnical analyses such as bearing capacity, settlement, and slope stability under the guidance of intermediate and senior engineers
• Provide technical support on geotechnical projects, including field investigations, interpretation of laboratory test results, and geotechnical design and analysis
• Assist senior team members in preparing geotechnical studies, proposals, and engineering reports for projects of low to medium complexity
• Participate in and promote a safety‑first culture

The Skills That Set You Apart

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s considered an asset)
• 1–3 years of relevant post‑degree experience in geotechnical consulting
• Eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with PEO

Compensation

AB, BC, NT, NU, SK & YT: $66,700 – $88,400
MB & ON: $60,900 – $83,800
NB, NL, NS, PEI & QC: $60,300 – $80,000
