The Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) is seeking a self‑motivated and detail‑oriented individual to provide support as a Junior Financial Analyst within the Financial Services Branch.
This position is required to work on‑site, reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting.
Summary
The Junior Financial Analyst is responsible for ensuring the accuracy of financial statements and reports, budgeting and forecasting future financial results, analyzing and overseeing the processing of financial information, and developing, implementing, monitoring, and recommending changes to various financial, accounting and management processes and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities
- Provide support to accounting functions including analysing and overseeing the processing of financial information.
- Maintain systems of accounts.
- Critically review financial statements and reports including completing reconciliations.
- Develop and initiate new accounting processes, procedures and practices.
- Complete risk assessments while designing and conducting information system tests and procedures to evaluate program operations.
- Ensure compliance with internal control procedures.
- Provide coaching and accounting advice to branches and the financial services staff.
- Supports the financial services team in preparing budgets, fiscal forecasts and financial reports as well as responding to any inquiries relating to these reports.
- Provide daily cash forecasting to the Ministry of Finance for investing or borrowing information purposes.
- Perform any assigned duties related to property management.
Required Technical Knowledge, Skills And Qualifications
- A diploma or degree in Commerce or Business Administration with a focus on Accounting or Finance supplemented by two (2) years of progressive financial experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with outstanding issue management skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated strong problem‑solving and analytical skills.
- Knowledge of accounting and financial acts, regulations, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of financial and management accounting principles.
- Knowledge of applicable accounting practices, standards, and procedures.
- Knowledge of applicable computer hardware and software applications such as Excel, Word, and Office and the warehouse management system.
- Knowledge of computer‑aided design software would be considered an asset.
- Ability to operate a variety of office equipment according to procedures.
- Ability to accurately collect, verify, record and reconcile records in accordance with guidelines while maintaining confidentiality.
- Ability to input, edit, update, retrieve, merge, maintain, format and transmit data utilizing word processing, database, spreadsheet, communication and other software packages with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to create and generate queries, reports and documents utilizing word processing, database, spreadsheet, communication and other software packages with speed and accuracy.
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem‑solve within the scope of this job.
Working Conditions
Core office hours are 8:00 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. Monday to Friday. This role is primarily desk‑based, with most of the work day dedicated to computer use, including keyboarding, data analysis, and system navigation. The Junior Financial Analyst must demonstrate their commitment to safety by consistently ensuring the well‑being of themselves and others in the workplace.
