Role Overview

As a Junior Financial Analyst you will report to the Vice President of Finance, you will support project managers and senior finance professionals in analyzing financial data for engineering projects. This role combines traditional financial analysis with project-based cost control, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with client and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial reports for infrastructure projects, including variance analysis and performance metrics.
  • Support project budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering and analyzing cost data from engineering teams.
  • Conduct financial modeling and scenario analysis to evaluate project profitability and resource allocation.
  • Monitor key financial indicators such as revenue, expenses, and cash flow for ongoing civil engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate cost tracking and timely invoicing.
  • Maintain financial databases and ensure compliance with internal controls and client requirements.
  • Provide ad‑hoc analysis to support strategic decisions on project bids and resource planning.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years in similar role.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle).
  • Excellent communication skills for working with technical and non‑financial stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Internship or co‑op experience in engineering, construction, or consulting environments.
  • Knowledge of project accounting principles and cost control practices.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Progress toward CPA or CFA certification is an asset.
